During the COVID-19 pandemic when everyone was experiencing isolation and disconnection, I found Patient Project whose mission is to build connections and community through creativity and art. Their theme "patience and strength" expressed the ideology presented in the submissions and art contributed by our community members to the journal. During my time with Patient Project, I served as a Web Designer and Photography Creative. I regularly updated and managed the Patient Project - Community Journal website with the latest event information and artwork submissions from our community members. I also served as a Photography Creative where I shared my own photos and blog posts to increase community journal submissions and engagement. Along with three other creatives --- related to poetry, art, and prose --- we increased our community engagement by 60% from the previous year by hosting events such as open mic night, and art picnics.
